BRILAND

The color is unbelievable on "briland" (which was such a well kept secret until this book was published), even the sand is pink!  My family has been coming to this island since the 1970's and although it has changed a lot in the last couple decades, it still retains tons of its island charm.  The color, the food, the smiling happy Bahamians. I love it here. Can't you see why?
We were able to take a cooking class while we were there (we= my fam) and I learned how to make stone crab rolls and lobster salad.  Delish!  It was the ultimate relaxing get away.  In fact... I'm still in vacay mode after two weeks.  Does that happen to you? Re-entry is tough. My mom and I were inspired by all the color on the island... as you can see. It was funny coming back to Maine's "spring" after this trip.  Where are some of your favorite beach spots?

COASTAL BEAUTIES

Spring is here? Sa-weeet! It has been so beautiful in Maine.  I think I'll take after these beauties and head out to the rocky coast. First I need a vintage bathing suit though. Thinking of either this one, or this one.

REIGNING MCQUEEN

The Alexander McQueen show at the Met was INSANE! McQueen was such a freak genius... His attention to detail, his method of constructing clothes, his innovative use of materials, and groundbreaking, cross the line, almost disturbing concepts have made him one of the most respected, and awed designers of all time.  If you can, GO. You will not be disappointed.

Here are some of my faves from the show... absolutely stunning.

See the rest of the show here.

I feel so inspired!

ITS THE JOURNEY

"Mountains should be climbed with as little effort as possible and without desire.   The reality of your own nature should determine the speed.  If you become restless, speed up.  If you become winded, slow down.  You climb the mountain in an equilibrium between restlessness and exhaustion.  Then, when you're no linger thinking ahead, each footstep isn't just a means to an end but a unique even in itself.  This leaf has jagged edges.  This rock looks loose.  From this place the snow is less visible, even though closer.  These are things you should notice anyway.  To live only for some future goal is shallow.  It's the sides of the mountains which sustain life, not the top..." -Robert Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

SUITED FOR SUMMER

This weekend was so amazing (albeit a bit chilly), the sun was shining and everyone was smiling! Delightful.  LOVE these suits and the vintage vibe.  Looking forward to some lazy summer days and dreaming of it daily... Enjoy!

PERFECTLY POLISHED

Check out these fab colors from Essie’s spring collection, in addition to some of my personal picks… I’ve been seeing the purples around town and they look amazing.  A perfect pop for this transitional weather we’ve been having (uggggg).
